Mariel & Max

Mariel and Max met in 2021, during the heart of the pandemic. Their first date, a sunlit lunch at a Spanish restaurant, offered a welcome escape from lockdowns and empty city streets. From the start, Mariel was open about her plans for a long trip and her uncertainty about beginning something serious. Max understood, but suggested they visit a special place in Chile together—a spot Mariel had always dreamed of seeing. He hoped that, whenever she remembered that place, she would think of him, too. It was a simple, sincere gesture that stayed with Mariel.

After a few months discovering each other, Mariel set off on her adventure. When she returned, she and Max planned a getaway, and somewhere between winding mountain roads and quiet moments, they realized their connection had grown into something lasting. What began in unusual times soon turned into a shared life. Not long after, they found a home together in Providencia, Santiago, and started building their future side by side.

Travel has become a defining thread in Mariel and Max’s story. Just two months after becoming a couple, they tackled the W Trek in Patagonia—a multi-day journey many said would test any relationship. For them, it only brought them closer. Since then, they’ve explored over a dozen countries together, sharing adventures and making memories from city streets to mountain summits. In 2022, Max met Mariel’s family in Costa Rica and quickly fell in love with the country that would become part of their story. In June 2025, with the dramatic landscapes of Cajón del Maipo as their backdrop, Max proposed. Now, surrounded by those they love most, they’re ready for the next adventure—together.
